The Front Lines of My Brain

There are some things that have me thinking lately.

#1
It is my belief that the relationships I have with other people are worth enough to me that I would have a hard time removing someone from my life without giving it some thought and time. I believe that there is time to be angry but never a time to be hateful.  I recently lost a friend and while I will truly miss her, I am glad I wasn't required to give it thought or time.  She made the decision to be on the outskirts of my life for the both of us.  This isn't the first time she made that choice and unfortunately, I can't be there with open arms to welcome her back as I have in the past.  This one hurt my heart.

#2
There are quality passionate people in this world and I am making it my charge to surround myself with as many of them as I can during this time on Earth.  I have been fortunate enough to have some amazing mentors throughout my life.  They taught me how question everything, how to see things through a different lens and most importantly, how to mold myself into decent human being.  I hope I can provide that to someone else someday.

#3
I want people to do what they want for once.  It's about finding time to play.  If your thing is to write music then write it for the pure enjoyment of the process.  Don't do it for anyone else.  If it's running then run like no one is watching.  Make terrible faces and stop to breathe if you want to.  We all need to play. Whatever your "thing" is, it needs to be done.  Don't talk yourself out of it.  The world is waiting and you deserve it.

We are pretty resilient creatures.  It's amazing how we recover from tragic loss, breakups, abuse, illness and countless other sad and terrible things.  Usually on the other side of recovery we find a lesson, a stronger person, compassion and growth. It is my belief that this can only be true if you come out of the other side looking for these things.  The energy you put out into the world is the same energy that comes back to you.
