Over the past year I have overcome some pretty substantial situations and ailments. While overcoming large hurdles it is easy to lose focus on less important things thus creating setbacks.
I don't believe in excuses, but I believe that some things must suffer so other things can happen. Allow me to equate this to planting seeds. If you plant a bunch of onion seeds in a row some of them will need to be thinned out after they sprout in order for the remaining seeds to flourish and produce a healthy onion.
This has been the case for me in my personal life. I am struggling to forgive myself for putting things on the back burner so I can survive and shine in other areas. On the bright side, things are getting back to normal and I am starting to establish a routine that will allow me to balance work, art, life, exercise, homemaking and family, but it is harder than I expected. It's like when you realize that falling down as an adult hurts a lot more than when you are a child.
Set backs cause me grief, but they are necessary.
