There are times when I am worried about the purpose of my life. I try to do the best I can to inspire others, be inspired and to learn as much as I can, but none of those things seem to satisfy my appetite for a purpose.
It seems easy to assume a purpose when you have children to take care of or a meaningful career like nursing, teaching, etc. but without those situations present in my life I am left to wonder, "What am I supposed to be doing here? Why am I part of the lives I am part of? Why don't I have children or another obvious path to lead? What am I missing?"
I am hopeful that life is a process and that I will eventually fall onto the path I am meant to be on, but at the same time, I struggle with trying to control and predict that process. If I were to give myself advice I would tell myself that we cannot expect a clear purpose and that we need to trust the process.
I ask myself, "What do I want?" I want to help people see that they have control over their mood and situations. I want to inspire them to be strong and go after whatever it is that they are looking for. I want to make a difference in someone's life. I just don't feel like I am doing an adequate good job at any of those things. Perhaps I am going after the wrong audiences, or maybe I just have to keep going until I reach those who want to be reached. I just don't know.
There are days when I am reminded how small we all are in the scheme of things...
