That Negative Vibe

There are going to be times in our lives when our livelihood is infected by someone else's bad mojo.  It's like a virus, you don't see it coming but it takes over very quickly and before you know it, you are infected.  Their negativity seeps into your soul and takes over your brain.  The self doubt and self worth they project onto you seems paralyzing.  It's like the devil himself, sneaky, quick and powerful.

We are stronger than this, but to get out alive we've got to focus, maintain our strength and remove them from our life.  It's hard.  Part of you wants the good parts of the negative person to stay.  Don't do it.  Their negativity will eventually take over and be all the more contagious.  It sounds dramatic, but it is true.

If you have a person in your life that lies to you, makes you doubt your self worth, or makes you feel bad in any way on a regular basis, please do yourself a favor and get away from them.  There shouldn't be anyone in our lives who doesn't make us feel good and support what we do.  Life is too short to accept anything less than this.

Every once in a while one of these toxic individuals cross my path.  They are usually in disguise as a person who wants a little sunshine in their life.  If you know me, you know that I am capable of meeting this need.  The problems arise when their desire to remain miserable comes to light.  They love to wallow in their woes and are not interested in making any changes that would help them.

It's sad for me when I have to remove them from my life because the removal process is prompted by disappointments, lies and general bullshit.  It haunts me for a long time because I truly love the people I let into my life.  This does not stop me from opening my heart to people.  I find the risk is worth taking.
