Opinion 1
There are a lot of opinions out there on what qualifies as art and what doesn't. I treat all things that speak to me are art. By speak to me I mean, they make me feel something I did not feel before I looked at it or listened to it. This could be a painting or a piece of bark that fell off of a tree. It could be a bag of bouncy balls or a well known artist's latest piece. It is my belief that it is not up to me to decide what is art and what is not.
Opinion 2
Drawing is a technical skill that can be learned. I was not born drawing well. It has taken years of practice, patience and research for me to be decent at drawing. I have done my time in drawing classes drawing still life and naked bodies all while being critiqued by fellow students and instructors. I can draw objects, but unless I make a statement with my drawing I feel I have merely executed a technical skill.
Opinion 3
Many believe that to be an artist one must make a living as such but I am here to tell you that you can be an artist and not make any money at all. I have been an artist since age seven. I made my first sale in my mid twenties. It is very difficult to make a living off of your artwork, but that should not stop anyone from being an artist.
That is all.
