Memory #1 Playing "statue"
The idea of this game was to run around and act crazy until someone yelled "Statue!". At that point, the players would freeze in what ever position they happen to be in...and then stay there until someone fell over. Then we would laugh and do it all over again until we got bored.
Memory #2 Flowers from foam
I vividly recall my sister buying a bag of flower seeds one summer. The strange thing was that these flower seeds were in this weird pink foam-like material that you were to roll out onto your flowerbed and water daily until the seeds sprouted. Now, as an adult, I understand the science behind it all (lazy gardening syndrome), but at the time I was baffled. I wondered why in the world she was spreading insulation out on the ground. Sure enough, the flowers grew and looked great. Just a year ago, I used a similar foam product to grow grass. The kind in your yard, not marijuana.
One of my pet peeves is when city people stick plastic flowers in planters in their yards and expect others to think they are real. Then the flowers get faded and the city people leave still leave them there. Really, how hard is it to dig a hole and stick a real flower in it? I wish that the flower foam grew those plastic flowers instead of real ones.
Memory #3 Insect Graveyard
When I was about ten years old, I made an insect graveyard. I took a round baby blue plastic tub and filled it with dirt. I knew enough about dirt to know that the insects would get "lost" in the graveyard if I just tossed them in the tub and covered them. My solution to this dilemma, was to carve coffins out of Irish Spring. I was resourceful back then and made several coffins out of one bar of soap. Now that I think back to this, I realize that maybe we weren't in the best position to be wasting soap like that, but whatever.
So, now that I had a plot and a stock of coffins, I was ready to roll... except one thing, I needed some bug carcases. I poked around our shed and garage and was able to find a couple carpenter ants and a bee or two. I buried them and made grave markers with sticks. I liked my graveyard and every now and then dig up the coffins to see if the bugs were still there. Then one day I came home from a friends house and discovered that someone had dug up my graveyard and tried put it back like nothing happened. I felt so betrayed. I eventually dumped the graveyard out because I needed the tub for a different adventure.
The end Some of these memories will be sort of lame. I guess it just depends on my mood. I will be posting funny and also lame memories, so be warned.

I don't like silk flower landscaping either, especially when they last through the winter.
