A few thoughts have been floating around in my mind lately. As some of my followers already know, I lost my best friend around Christmas time. Don't worry, she didn't die, she just broke up with me. Regardless, it has left a little empty spot in my world. I miss having a person to banter back and forth with.
That being said, I feel like I don't have anyone to share the day to day ramblings of my mind with. It takes a special person to enjoy my randomness. In place of a human, I will use my blog space to empty brain.
The thoughts and ramblings:
1. I have a beautiful city garden that stretches all across my property. If there is a sunny spot, there is a vegetable or berry growing there. This year I will harvest the following: tomatoes, red potatoes, Yukon gold potatoes, parsnips, egg plant, basil, sage, garlic, zucchini, cucumbers, spinach, kale, cherry tomatoes, radishes, parsley, cilantro and black berries.
2. A couple of my friends are getting divorced and I am sad about it. I hate to see anyone go through such a hard process.
3. I've noticed lately that most of the time people are not interested at all in what you have to say or share. I am the first to admit that I love sharing knowledge and entertaining stories, but I am also very interested in learning about people. I want to find their passion and watch their eyes light up when they start talking about it. If they don't have a passion, I want to help them find one.
The problem I am experiencing recently is that I am helping people but once I have delivered my advice, listened to their uneasy minds, offered support, and they feel better, they go along their merry way without a thought that there may be a time when I need the same from them. It's very single sided, you see.
I become invisible.

1. I'm jealous of your garden. We bought a house in January and I was salivating at the fact that it had a fenced-in garden in the backyard. Turns out that it had been seriously neglected, was full or rocky clay and pokeweed (horrible stuff it is), and the fencing was in general disrepair. I have been having the worst time getting anything other than cucumbers, watermelon, and horseradish to grow. It killed 98% of my corn, beans, peas, peppers, turnips, radishes, and canteloupe. Bummer.
2. Divorce sucks. Been there and have a few friends going through it. I hate being friends with both people and both of them wanting you to take sides.
3. I'm pretty horrible myself at staying in contact with people who aren't physically close to me. Always have and I'm not sure why. Every time I transferred in the Navy, I made new friends and didn't stay in contact with but 1-2 people from the previous place. Maybe I'm too closed off. I don't know.
Good reading. This post struck me in particular so I commented.

I'm glad you commented. Try adding a few raised gardens over the next few years.
