Tractors and what-not

I heard the other day that my dad traded in his 4-wheeler for a new tractor, so I went over to check it out. As you can see, I look pretty good on a tractor. I like to go out to his place once a week to get my fill of country life. I checked on the chickens and the garden we were supposed to grow together this year. Everything seems to be in order.

Since my last visit, my dad added a few more chickens to the coop, including a new rooster named "Bill". No, we will not eat "Bill", he is in charge of keeping the other chickens in order. Yes, he crows... a lot. I think he likes me. I will include his photo below. Isn't he perrrdy?

Other than meeting Bill, the big excitement was seeing the garden thrive. The recent rain has really helped. Check out the cabbage patch(left)...did someone say sauerkraut? We make our own sauerkraut, and it is quite tasty! Did you know that all it takes to make sauerkraut is a canning jar and a tablespoon of canning salt? Amazing.

I can imagine that some of my readers are not impressed by farm animals and cabbage...so I'll move on.

This weekend is a long one for me. I am off Friday and Monday. Even though, I have class Monday, it is still like vacation. My friend Blacky is coming into town from NYC. I am very happy about this. She is a hairstylist to the stars. Fancy, huh? I imagine our holiday weekend will be more low key than that of years past. For instance, one Easter Blacky and I went driving around in my pick up truck, The Dyke Bomb, to cure our boredom. We drove into Wellington and to no ones surprise, there wasn't much going on in that town, so we went to the only place in Wellington that never closes...Geyers Super Value. There, we purchased a dozen eggs and drove around town tossing them at random bmx bikers and yelled "HaaaaapppY Eeeeeaster!" in a demented old man voice. It was great fun back then. I can't even imagine doing something like that at this age. That's sad. I wish I was still that bold.

The End
